Via their Steam Community page, KWStudios have released some more information on their upcoming 'RR Truck'.
Lets get straight into the specs then. It has 1100BHP and 5000nm of torque at 1250rpm, powered by a 12.4L 6 cylinder engine. It weighs an enormous 5300kg and has a 16 speed gearbox - yes you heard that right, sixteen speed! In order to keep it in check in the slow stuff, it has brakes that are water-cooled in order to keep them at their best temperature and therefore working most efficiently.
KW Studios worked with real racing truck driver Sascha Lenz in order for the trucks to feel authentic to the real deal, especially with the studio's lack of experience with racing trucks.
Inside the cockpit, they have tried to keep it as authentic as possible. The sixteen gears are divided into two ranges: LO - 1-4 and HI - 5-8. Each of these 8 gears is split into two ratios: H (for higher top speed) and L (for better acceleration). All this information is displayed in the cockpit. As you can imagine, managing all this will be difficult, especially in race conditions. In order to combat this difficulty, there are three accessibility options: EASY-completely automated, NORMAL- manual shifting, and you can choose between Low and High, and if you bind the key you can change from H and L in toggle gear split, Advanced- totally in your own hands (you must bind all keys before however).
As you can imagine, slowing these 5tonne beasts to negotiate slow corners need to some meaty brakes. They are water-cooled, so if they are getting too hot, you can spray them from the cockpit with the assigned button. If you don't assign the button for this it will be automatic when temperatures reach above 350'C. However, the tank is only 200L, so you must manage it through the race if you are using it yourself.
As in real life, these huge rigs have a 160KPH limit for safety reasons, and there is a limiter for when you reach these speeds. As also in real life, all races are rolling starts for safety reasons once again.
Will you be racing these huge machines? We certainly are looking forward to racing them!
